First Steps
Tips for Long-lasting Beauty
1. Insert Last, Remove First

Hair styling products like oils, sprays, and waxes, as well as cosmetics,
contain oils that can dull the shine of your kanzashi.
To prevent dirt buildup, insert your kanzashi as the final step
in your hair styling routine and remove it when taking it out.
If you use styling products,
clean your hands before handling the kanzashi.
If you must use hairspray after inserting your kanzashi,
make sure it does not come into direct contact with the piece.
2. Wipe Immediately After Use

Sweat, skin oils and styling products left on the kanzashi can dull its natural shine over time.
To maintain its beauty, wipe it with a soft cloth immediately after removing it.
(!) Do not use polishing cloths that contain abrasives.
(!) For stubborn stains, check the cleaning method introduced later in this article.
3. Store in a Pouch or Box

Storing kanzashi with other accessories may cause scratches due to friction.
To keep it safe, store each piece individually in the provided pouch or packaging box.
This also helps protect it from moisture and sunlight, which can cause discolouration.
(!) Even inside a pouch or box, avoid storing in areas exposed to direct sunlight or high humidity.
When Should You Remove Your Kanzashi?
1. When It May Get Wet

Avoid wearing your kanzashi in situations where it may get wet, such as in the bath or shower.
Plated kanzashi are sensitive to chlorine and sulfur, so remove them before entering hot springs, pools, or the ocean.
2. In Extreme Temperatures or Humidity

Avoid wearing kanzashi in high-humidity places like saunas or extreme cold environments like ski resorts.
These conditions may cause discoloration or deformation,
and in some cases, even burns or frostbite if the metal gets too hot or cold.
When storing your kanzashi, also avoid places with extreme temperatures or high humidity.
3. During Physical Activity or Sleep

Remove your kanzashi before engaging in intense or prolonged physical activity, as well as before sleeping.
Wearing kanzashi during these times may cause it to bend,
scratch, or even result in injury.
4. If You Experience Skin Discomfort

Our kanzashi are made of stainless steel and nickel-free plating,
materials that are generally less likely to cause allergies.
However, we cannot guarantee that all users will be free from allergic reactions.
If you experience any discomfort,
stop using the kanzashi immediately and consult a medical professional.
What to Do in These Situations?
1. When the Prongs of Your Kanzashi Bend or Cross

If the prongs are not severely deformed, you can gently reshape them by hand.
For a step-by-step guide on how to fix crossed prongs, watch the tutorial below:
2. When Wiping Alone Does Not Remove Dirt

If sweat, skin oils, or styling products are difficult to remove,
try this simple home cleaning method.
What You Need:

・ Kitchen dish soap (preferably with citric acid)
・Foam-based soap (for easier application)
・Absorbent kitchen paper or towel
※Important Notes Before Cleaning
※ If your kanzashi has crystals, avoid getting water on the crystal parts.
※ For plated or matte-finish kanzashi, dry thoroughly after cleaning before storing in the pouch or box.
※ If dirt has been left for a long time, this method may not fully restore the shine.
Cleaning Steps:

Lather the soap well
Point! > Foam spray-type soap makes this easier!

Wash evenly with your fingers.
Point! >Avoid using a sponge to prevent scratches.
Point! > For stubborn stains, washing twice is recommended.

Rinse thoroughly for at least 10 seconds
Point! > Any residue left behind may cause dullness or discoloration.

Dry completely before storing
Point! > For plated or matte kanzashi, drying is especially important to prevent water stains or discoloration.
Point! > For intricate designs with kanzashi, dry all corners properly before storing.
Final Thoughts:
By following these simple care steps, you can keep your kanzashi shining beautifully for years to come.
Treat your kanzashi with care, and it will continue to add elegance to your look, day after day.
